Montgomery County State's Attorneys Office purchases new case management solution for high security environment

February 6, 2010

ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND—February 6, 2010—Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office takes its first users live with JustWare | Prosecutor.

The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office is in the final stages of implementation of their new case management solution, JustWare | Prosecutor. The agency of more than 100 users took their office into live production testing in January 2010 and plans to be fully functional by March.

“[The project management team] from New Dawn Technologies was knowledgeable, cooperative, and open to the input from users during all phases of the project,” said Lynn Zebroski, Business Project Manager for the State’s Attorney’s Office. Montgomery County’s security processes and requirements are some of the most stringent in the world. However, JustWare’s structure and flexibility allows it to operate within the security requirements.

The selection process of Montgomery County’s new attorney case management solution began in 2005 and included in-depth vendor background checks, vendor stability analysis, customer satisfaction surveys, and more, to assure that the new prosecutor software had the versatility to operate in Montgomery’s tight security environment. While JustWare passed all these tests, it was its simplicity that caught the eye of the State’s Attorney’s Office. “The Office operated on a completely manual process,” recalled Zebroski, “and the committee felt that JustWare would make transition from the manual process to an automated process easier for our personnel.”

JustWare features configurable, user-friendly screens that display only the information that is needed for each specific user. Business rules and automated workflow and documents enable more efficient processes and reduce data-entry time and error. “We feel that JustWare will provide more accurate statistical tracking and will improve our individual divisions’ processes in a more efficient and time-saving manner,” said Zebroski.

Now that JustWare is in the final stage of implementation, Montgomery County looks forward to future automation goals and enhancements including document scanning and routing capabilities, data integration with the Montgomery County Circuit Court, and juvenile and discovery functionality. The State’s Attorney’s Office is also exploring the possibility of a bi-directional data exchange with the District and Circuit Courts.

The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office is very pleased with JustWare | Prosecutor and is optimistic for its future relationship with New Dawn Technologies. “JustWare offers the most complete and comprehensive product to meet our growing needs,” said Zebroski.
