Benton County Prosecutors and its county seat Bentonville, home to Wal-Mart's corporate headquarters, are located in one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Arkansas. They are the second largest county and the fourth largest district in the state.

Challenge

The Benton County Prosecutor’s Office required a prosecutor software solution that would accommodate their growing criminal case workload and technical solutions to better track the caseloads of Victim Services, Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Drug Crimes and Hot Check cases.

“With the County's explosive population growth, our office has struggled to maintain efficiency and organization with outdated systems and ever increasing case numbers,” stated Bob Balfe, Benton County Prosecutor.

Solution

“Three years ago we began a nationwide search to find innovative solutions to these problems. Without question, the solutions provided by New Dawn were the clear answer. New Dawn's JustWare | Prosecutor product provided easy and simple methods to track, organize and secure the vast amount of information flowing into our office,” said Bob Balfe.

After evaluating JustWare and visiting New Dawn customers, New Dawn was chosen for the project. In addition to JustWare, the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office selected three additional products from the JustWare | Solution Suite to assist in the management of information and resources within their office. New Dawn's JusticeWebview will be utilized by law enforcement staff to access key case and name information via a secure web connection and will provide secure web access to the daily public docket to the local press. For staff attorneys, mobilelync will provide a non-networked, automatically synchronized version of JustWare on a number of laptops. JustWare financial tracking and collection features and an interface to the existing courts case management system will allow the judicial collections staff to collect outstanding obligations due to the office.

To alleviate the paper filings that are provided by Benton County Sheriff and Bentonville Police Departments, JusticeBroker will be used to allow the office staff to electronically receive case and name information.
